Tango Aberdeen News

Superb!

What a great night we had at St Margaret's church hall.  The floor was filled with dancers moving around as if they had been dancing for longer than a few months.  Tango Aberdeen prides itself on offering the best in teaching and Adrian Hirschmuller delivered two very good classes one for the beginner and the another for the improver.  Can't wait for next week to see what he has in store for us.

Rose had a birthday surprise when we brought out some cake for all to share!  Think she was a little embarrassed.  Tee! Hee!

Don't forget the improver+ class on Sunday with Laura and Mike.  Check the classes page.

Thanks for John and Fiona

Last night's Practica was well attended and we want to take this opportunity to thank John and Fiona for making the evening that much more special for those who were fortunate to receive individual tuition.

It was a sociable evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.  We had a few people along who are taking part in the Corporate Decathlon who wanted extra time to practice their dancing before the big event this coming weekend., hopefully they are now hooked and the dance and will return to join us each week.

We had a couple of ladies from the Glasgow area who were coming to Aberdeen for a meeting and decided to pop in for a dance!  This is what Argentine tango is all about - you can go anywhere in the country or world and you will always find others who can dance.

The language of Argentine tango is spoken worldwide!

An offer you can't refuse at our Sunday Practica!

This coming Sunday we have a Practica from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.  The time is arranged so you can practice your dancing and this Sunday John and Fiona will be on hand to offer FREE 30 minute guidance for couples or the individual dancer.  Make sure you book your place with us at tangoaberdeen@gmail.com or take a chance and come along to St Margaret's Episcopal Church Hall on Gallowate.  If no places left you can stay and dance for the £3 entry fee.

Every level of dancer is welcome at the Practica - the floor and music awaits you!

What an offer - you just cannot get better tuition anywhere else but with Tango Aberdeen!

Sunday's Practica

Thanks to all who attended Sunday's Practica.  There were several new faces which is always encouraging especially if never danced tango before.  Hopefully those new people will come to class tomorrow night - 7.30pm for beginners and 8.45pm for improvers.

It was a good night and nice to see so many couples dancing.  See you next time!

Tango, tango, tango

Again good classes last night taught by Adrian Hirschmuller.  Some old faces decided to pay us a visit along with some new ones.  Tango Aberdeen is fortunate to have such good teachers and we love seeing how everyone progresses from one week to the next.  Something for everyone!

See you next time!

What a lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon

Well, what a lovely time we all had at the workshops, pizza and tango today.  There was a good turn out and it was very sociable.  The ladies technique class concentrated on making the ladies feet and legs look pretty on the dance floor and the hard work payed off and improvement could be seen at the end of the session.  The men's workshop included work on the ocho and introducing the enrosque to compliment the giro. Well done you guys!

Tango Aberdeen would like to thank all those who attended the workshops and the pizza and dancing as without your support we would not be in a position to offer you these occasions.  We had fun and hope you did too!

PIZZA AND TANGO!

Sunday 22 April you can eat pizza and dance tango.  Come along to St Margaret's Episcopal Church Hall on Gallowgate at 5.15pm when the pizza will be served. The tango music will play from 5.15pm to 8pm for you to dance to your heart's content.  Entry fee is £5.

If you decide to come along to one of the workshops then your entry to Pizza and Tango is included in the price.

Hope to see you!

Oh! What a night!

Great night was had by all last night.  Laura and Mike taught two very good classes, working on ochos and the barrida.  It was great to see new members amongst our regulars! The floor was busy between the two classes for the practice break and the place was buzzing.

Tango Aberdeen prides itself on quality teaching and offers plenty of variety with not only classes but Practicas and Milongas.  If you haven't experienced a Practica or Milonga come and give it a try - you will be most welcome.

Keep in touch by placing your name on our mailing list - go to the Contact Us page.

Last night's practica

We wish to thank John Newton and Fiona for providing private tuition during the practica last night.  Those that attended had the opportunity to get some individual attention and am sure they appreciated the opportunity.  We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday for the class being taught by Mike and Laura.

Don't forget we have technique workshops on Sunday 22 April - an occasion to get to grips with how to look good on the dance floor!  Getting it right with Tango Aberdeen.

SUNDAY PRACTICA with "Special Offer"

We round off another week with our Sunday Practica.  Everyone is welcome from 7.30pm to 9.30pm for an entry fee of £3 (we will even provide tea and biscuits).

Our Special Offer, if you would like some individual attention, is that you can book a half-hour slot with John and Fiona of Tangodee, who will watch your dancing and offer advice on things like posture, walking, embrace and connection - all the tango essentials.

This is a great opportunity to receive first-class personal attention and at no extra cost beyond the £3 entry charge into the Practica.  All you need to do is email: tangoaberdeen@gmail.com and if there is a slot available, it’s yours. The times of the three slots are: 7.30, 8.15 and 9pm (please say if you have a preference, but bear in mind that these slots are on a first come, first served basis).  Ideally, you will have a partner to share the slot with you, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry, one of our experienced dancers will step in to help.

This brilliant offer is being aimed at Beginners, but more advanced dancers can get a place if there are still slots left on the night.

We hope to see the dance floor filled with couples dancing - remember "practice makes perfect"!

Tango Aberdeen presents -Technique workshops

We thought it about time to organise more workshops for you and have decided to have one workshop for the followers and one workshop for the leaders - on technique.  These workshops are designed to help enhance the appearance of your dancing and to understand the importance of the correct technique to achieve this.

Sunday 22 April - followers 2pm to 3.30pm and leaders 3.45pm to 5.15pm.

More details to follow soon - keep watching this space as there will be a treat for you as well!
